Didcot Town take on Newport IoW tomorrow in a friendly at the Loop Meadow (3pm).

Newport will be fielding new player/coach Guy Whittingham, the former Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth striker who began his career at Oxford City. He also had a short loan spell at Oxford United last season.

*Milton United are looking forward to the new season in the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League Division 1 East with confidence.

New manager Graham Foster has strengthened the senior squad at the Heights by adding new players and introducing a new training regime, placing a greater emphasis on fitness and team work.

With the future of the club in mind, the club are running teams at under 18, two at under 17 and one at under 14 level this season, as well as a ladies team.

New players at all levels are welcome, with training taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Heights from 7pm.

*Former Witney Town manager and Oxford City No 2 Andy Lyne has signed a two-year contract with AFC Newbury. Lyne took over the hot-seat at the Jewson Wessex League club after parting company with City last season.

*Headington Amateurs manager Phil Major will have a new assistant for the new campaign in Paul Sammons, who was assistant boss at Quarry Nomads last season.

Graham McAnuff, last year's assistant manager, has stepped down through work commitments and will assist the new reserve team manager recruited from Abingdon United, Donley Romain.

Ex-Oxford United player Jimmy Light becomes general manager, and ex-Witney Town player Kent Drackett is vice chairman.
