Improvisation was the name of the game at a holiday playscheme after craft supplies failed to show-up.
Volunteers at Kings Meadow Primary School, Bicester, were dismayed when materials they had ordered were not delivered on time because of a mix-up by Parcel Force.
Stephanie Clap, pictured, was among 90 children, aged between five and ten, who attended the arts and crafts playscheme.
Volunteer Sharon Mace said: "We had to do the craft work with whatever we could get out hands on.
"We've made pom-pom animals with coloured pipe cleaners and feathers."
The delivery of about £700 worth of equipment included a range of craft materials for making wax-sand candles and wooden Christmas tree ornaments.
Mrs Mace said: "At least they will have plenty of materials for next year."
After adding the finishing touches, the children will attend an end of week party today.
