A kebab van owner has been praised by councillors for steps he is taking to cut down rowdyism near his business.
Seydi Caner, 47, has run his kebab stall in Wallingford for 12 years and uses the service road next to St Albans car park.
South Oxfordshire District Council Cabinet leader Jan Morgan thanked him for his work.
She said: "He has taken the initiative to close his van earlier and has helped alleviate a difficult situation."
People in the town have complained that the van attracted people after the pubs closed and led to fights, rowdyism, noise and people using the area as a public lavatory.
None criticised the owner, but said his clientele caused the problems.
The district council's cabinet was asked by the scrutiny committee to impose time limits on the operation.
It also said the van should be licensed and planning permission applied for.
The area is due to be redeveloped as part of the Waitrose expansion plan.
The cabinet decided last orders must be at 11.30pm and the van gone by midnight.
The site will be monitored - along with other fast food outlets that stay open late, so the kebab van problem is not simply moved to other parts of the town.
