A dozen darts players are on target to raise more than £1,000 from a 12-hour marathon.
Players, drawn almost equally from pub regulars and airmen at RAF Brize Norton spent most of Saturday in the Masons Arms in Burford Road, Brize Norton, to achieve their aim of bringing in money for Macmillan Cancer Relief nurses. Corporal Mark Willis, of RAF Brize Norton, organised the event.
Pub landlord, Bob Fisher, said: "It was brilliant. We have pledges for over £1,000 and more money is due to come in."
In the past, pub regulars have raised money for several causes including Witney Hospital and the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre at Oxford.
Mr Fisher said the next event would be a "great escape" to see who could travel the furthest distance from the pub in a given time - and without any money.
