A policeman's mammoth bicycle ride is expected to raise nearly £1,000 for three hospices.
Pc David Porter, 38 who works for the child protection unit at Cowley police station, rode 220 miles in 21 hours.
Pc David PorterHe set out from his home in Clevelands, Abingdon, for Leyland in Lancashire. He stayed overnight in Stafford before completing his journey, at the Derian Hospice in Leyland, the next day.
Mr Porter and his wife, Pam, come from Leyland and have been organising charity cycle runs for seven years. During that time, more than £6,000 has been raised for Sobell House and Helen House in Oxford and the Derian hospice.
Mrs Porter said: "It all began seven years ago when a friend's daughter who is now in remission from cancer spent some time at Helen House.
