Rachel Brenton produced a star performance for Radley Ladies as she leapt to a superb gold medal in the AAA Championships Under 17 triple jump at the Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield.

Brenton produced a championship record leap of 11.86m to blow away the rest of the field.

Radley's Rachel Brenton Seven Radley athletes took part, with Natalie Plateau making the final in the 200m, finishing seventh in a time of 25.99.

Molly Russell reached the semi-final in the 200m and 100m, with a personal best of 25.95 in the 200m.

Lucy Bourne recorded 43.50 in the heats of the 300m, while in the under 15 competition, Lauren Hawkins-Taylor just missed out on a medal, coming fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.20m.

Carolyn Plateau came home in fifth place in the 800m final, recording an excellent time of 2.20.74.

And Dominique Lord finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 31.42m.

*Radley Ladies A finished an excellent second in Saturday's Southern League match at Bournemouth.

Despite missing several of their usual team members, athletes rallied round and contributed to an excellent all-round team performance, which should ensure a top-four finish in Division 1.

Victories in the 75m hurdles A and B races for Lucy Boggis and Vicky Sanders-Clarke resulted in both girls achieving personal best times.

Boggis took half a second off of her old pb when she convincingly won the A race in 12.1 sec, also breaking the long-standing under 13 girls 75m hurdles club record, while Sanders-Clarke shaved 0.3 secs off her best in the B race.

Newcomer Lauren Tolmie achieved pb's in the under 15 1500m B race in 6.03.9 and the under 15 100m in 14.5.

Club captain Ruth Clements set a pb in the hammer when she won the B string with a throw of 24.72m before going on to compete in five other events.

Kay Reynolds also competed in six events, remaining unbeaten in the 100m hurdles.
