The Grand Prix action moves on to the Marketa Stadium in Prague for the Czech Republic Grand Prix on Saturday.
And for many it will be a case of going through the motions, for this year's winner is unlikely to come from anywhere but the top six.
Three-times world champion Tony Rickardsson continues to set the pace on 66 points, seven clear of his biggest rival, Tomasz Gollob. But the main threat to Rickardsson at the moment appears to be former Oxford Cheetahs star Jason Crump, who looks in unbeatable form.
Martin Dugard and Ales Dryml lead the way for Oxford in heat four durng the victory over Peterborough
Oxford's two protagonists, Todd Wiltshire and Leigh Adams, particularly the former, are also performing well in the series and it's a mystery why Wiltshire is so out of touch on a regular basis for Cheetahs.
He is firing well for his Swedish and Polish clubs and in the GP, but is only a shadow of the rider in a Cheetahs team jacket from last year.
Adams finally made it on to the podium with third spot in Vojens, Denmark, last month and surely will challenge again as he beats most of the line-up in the Elite League every week.
Fellow Cheetah Brian Andersen has it all to do to maintain his place in next year's series.
Currently in 16th spot, it was ironic that his worst display this year came in his homeland when finishing 19th with only three points.
A fit Lukas Dryml may well have earned a wild card in his home GP and that would have been a great boost for a rider who was struggling at reserve for Cheetahs last year.
But he has been out of action for so long now, it wouldn't be fair on him or the host country.
Skipper Steve Johnston celebrates victoryThe English challenge looks dead and buried, with current champion Mark Loram struggling on 19 points and Carl Stonehewer on 16. Joe Screen and Chris Louis have been unable to make any impression because of serious injuries.
Current standings: Rickardsson 66 pts, Gollob 59, Crump 45, Wiltshire 42, Adams 38, Klingberg 35, Sullivan 33, Pedersen 32, Gustafsson 25, P Karlsson 23, Nilsen 20, Loram, Hancock 19, Stonehewer, M Karlsson, Andersen, Walasek 16, Ferjan 15, Holta 13, Hamill 12, Protasiewicz 11, Smith 6.
