Oxford United fans are some of the worst behaved in Great Britain, according to figures released by the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS) yesterday.
The report covered 157 matches nationwide, including internationals. United fans were involved in serious violent disturbances seven times last season with 12 supporters arrested.
*October 28: Oxford supporters throw glasses and chairs at Reading supporters in Reading town centre.
*November 18: A group of 35 Oxford supporters, including several subject to banning orders, travel to Macclesfield for an FA Cup match.
*February 24: Police clash with 60 Oxford supporters walking towards the railway station before United's home game with Millwall.
*March 10: United's home match against Swindon Town has to be temporarily halted when Oxford supporters throw bottles and supporters at the opposition goalkeeper.
*April 21: United and Swindon fans clash in Oxford city centre during which the bus station is damaged.
Martin Brodetsky, spokesperson for supporters group Foul (Fighting for Oxford United's Life), said some fans were creating problems for the club on and off the pitch.
He said: "Hopefully the Football Association will not carry out its threat from last season to dock the team points or fine the club.
"Oxford is trying to market itself as a family club but behaviour like this will put families off coming to the game."
Tony Ashley, safety officer at United, said the club was determined to stamp out football hooliganism, and was working with police to achieve this.
Sgt Chris Farmer, of Oxford police operations, said: "We have been looking at schemes by which the club can impose a lifetime ban on any fan convicted of violence connected with a match."
