The Abingdon branch of the Nationwide Building Society has been nominated in a national awards scheme recognising the facilities of organisations which best meet the needs of disabled people.
The public nominated a total of 29 Nationwide branches for the national Ease of Access, Services and Employment (EASE) awards. The scheme is in its fifth year and is run in conjunction with the national charity Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled People.
The charity supports more than 100,000 disabled people every year. It invited the public to nominate businesses, employers and leisure services that demonstrate best practice for disabled people.
Ila Narsey, branch manager of Nationwide in High Street, Abingdon, said: "We are delighted that the public has taken the time and effort to nominate us for the award. We are very pleased to be recognised as an organisation committed to meeting the needs of all our customers both able bodied and disabled."
The Abingdon branch will know in the next few weeks whether it has been shortlisted as a finalist for the awards ceremony in London in October.
