The trumpet will sound once again at Christ Church Cathedral as La Rejouissance takes up its third August residency to present popular baroque music by candlelight.
This year the group presents Music for their Majesties, a selection of baroque pieces from the English and French Courts. On Saturdays the programme will include The Water Music by Handel and Purcell's Voluntaries from the Chapel Royal. On Wednesday, the programme opens with Purcell's The Fairy Queen and is followed by Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary and Lully's Carousel.
