Banbury United will be looking to consolidate after last season's successful return to the Dr Martens League.
Kevin Brock's side, who open the new campaign at home to Eastbourne Borough tomorrow, finished 13th in the Eastern Division last term after making a shaky start.
With the experience of last season under their belts, he is looking for a higher finish this term.
"I think we have improved the squad with good quality players coming in," he said.
"Without saying we will win the league, I would say we will be better than last year."
Brock is expecting great things from Matty Gooderick, who bagged 18 goals last season, and his new strike partner Ben Milner, who has been snapped up from Brackley.
However, the partnership will have to be put on hold tomorrow as Milner is out with a hamstring strain, and Gooderick and Terry Muckleberg both face fitness tests on ankle injuries.
New signing Liam O'Neill is out for three weeks with a cracked shoulder bone, and Andy Wallbridge is unavailable.
INS AND OUTS
In: J Simpson (Daventry), L O'Neill (Ford Sports), B Milner (Brackley Tn), T Joyce (Wealdstone).
Out: L Phillips (retired), M Sherlock (work).
Verdict: Probably lack strength in depth to challenge in the league, but could be a handy cup side.
