The Tenth Annual Elder Stubbs Festival features regular participant Hawkwind's Huw Lloyd-Langton, Some Dog punk band, 'Elvis' and local bands Flashback and Bodidharma Blues Band. The Dome in the Woods will house the Spotlight open mike stage, writes Chris Gray.
Jubilee Brass Band, Skeleton Crew (in the caf), and Mark Ginsburg (cocktail pianist), Paraguyan harpist Margaret Scruby (in the herb garden) will also play during the afternoon, with Sol Samba opening proceedings by parading round the allotments.
Other delights to be enjoyed are the Kipper Foot Dance Company presenting One More for the Road (with a workshop), an Egyptian dance performance and workshop, plus the Strawberry Fayre Majorettes and Butoh Dance Company demonstrating their skills. With open mike poetry reading sessions, plus arts (some martial) and crafts to watch or maybe have a go at there is something for everyone.
Alongside Restore crafts and produce, foods and teas from around the world will be on sale. There will be plenty to entertain the children who can meet Freddie the Fox, take donkey or pony rides, and enjoy the swingboats.
The event, which includes a vegetable show, opens at noon. If you are able to help on the day, please call Keith Birnie on 01865 747176.
