Abingdon's new-look side had a difficult baptism In Ryman Division 3 at Hornchurch on Saturday.
Without Leighton Creer and Gary Price through injury, their journey around the M25 was severely delayed by roadworks.
Hornchurch took the lead after barely 50 seconds through Stan Constantinou, and Abingdon went 2-0 down through Cripps.
During the interval, manager Alan Thorne made changes but it took Town until the 83rd minute to pull a goal back when a cross from the left eluded everyone including keeper Sanders.
And in the 90th minute,Town were awarded a free kick eight yards outside of the area which Adrian Field rifled past Sanders for the equaliser.
