Banbury got off to the perfect start in the Dr Martens Eastern Division with victory over Eastbourne - and even goalkeeper Simon Tricker got on the scoresheet!
Eastbourne were handed the lead in the ninth minute when United conceded a corner, and Nathan Godden smashed the ball home.
Banbury battled hard to get back into the game and got their reward in the 27th minute. Matty Travers found Ben Milner and the debutant striker poked the ball home from eight yards.
The equaliser gave Milner and Banbury some much-needed confidence, and they started to dominate.
The home side went ahead in the 58th minute, the impressive Jimmy Simpson crossing for Matty Gooderick to slot home.
Banbury's third, in the 61st minute, had an element of farce about it. Keeper Tricker sent a free kick into the area which bounced over opposite number Dean Lightwood into the net to give Tricker his first goal for the club.
Eastbourne's comeback hopes disappeared when Godden, who had been yellow-carded in the first-half, got a straight red card for a double-footed lunge at Simpson in the 65th minute.
