Saturday shoppers in Chipping Norton are being asked to bring along cans of unwanted paint.
Oxfordshire County Council's waste management team is visiting the town on Saturday, September 1, to collect pots of unwanted paint.
The scheme is providing more than 700 tins a year to brighten up the premises of community organisations, including scout and guide groups, play schemes and schools.
Organiser Sue Douglas said: "Everyone gains because people unclutter their sheds, the cans do not go to landfill sites and local groups get a helping hand."
The paint collection point will be set up outside The Guildhall in Chipping Norton from 10am to 2pm.
Paint can also be handed in at B&Q during opening hours.
