Three men took to the River Thames, inspired by Jerome K Jerome's book Three Men in a Boat.
Kate Pierrepont, owner of the Pierrepont Gallery on Folly Bridge, Oxford, came up with the idea with artist Marcus Hodge, as she thought of how she could find paintings for an autumn exhibition.
Caption goes here Mr Hodge, 35, from Grandpont, Oxford, and fellow artists David Ralph Simpson, 38, from Dorset, and Chris Johnson, 40, from Zimbabwe, took the leisurely trip from Chertsey to Oxford as a way of getting to know the countryside.
Using an assortment of historic craft from the Thames Vintage Boat Club, the trio explored some of the more inaccessible stretches of the Thames.
Kate said: "The trip has been a great success and the artists have seen all different sides of the Thames.
"They are all very individual artists so they have all captured different parts of the trip."
The rain accompanying the trip did not lower their spirits and the artists braved the occasional downpour to produce their work. Mr Simpson said: "I didn't know the Thames existed like this, the trips been fantastic."
Mr Johnson said: "The light has been typically English and it will be a typically English exhibition."
*The Three Men in a Boat exhibition takes place at the Pierrepont Gallery from November 4 to 27.
