A move to link four Oxfordshire villages with the national cycle network is being considered.
Chinnor parish councillor John Robertson wants cycle paths through Chinnor, Henton, Emmington and Sydenham to be included. They could connect with the Phoenix Trail along the former railway line between Thame and Princes Risborough.
Mr Robertson said: "Local cycle paths are backed by the Thame and Chinnor Better Ways to School Campaign because they link up with Lord Williams's School, Thame."
The parish council rejected moves several years ago to upgrade local footpaths. Clerk Brenda Wilson said: "The environmental committee will look at it again, but councillors generally do not favour making our footpaths into 6ft-wide Tarmacadamed routes."
