Oxford City boss Paul Lee can't believe that neighbours Oxford United haven't made an inquiry about striker Stuart Riddle.
The 22-year-old marksman, who scored twice in a friendly against United last week, was on target again with a brilliant volley in City's 3-2 opening day defeat at Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.
He is on a week's trial with Darlington now, and is due to play for their reserves tonight - meaning he will miss City's clash with Slough in Ryman League Division 1 at Court Place Farm (7.45).
Lee said: "He must have impressed United when we played against them, but nothing has come from them.
"He is happy to stay with us until he gets fixed up or if he gets fixed up.
"He is a quality player and it is a real result for us getting him, but how long we will keep him I don't know."
Striker Danny Wise is back after being unavailable on Saturday, but Andy Smith, Nigel Emsden and Matt Hayward remain sidelined through injury, while Dwaine Strong is unavailable due to family commitments.
Tonight's team
Oxford City (v Slough, home): from Nelson, Farley, Dark, Gray, Thorp, Organ, Lewis, Whitehead, Druce, Wise, Wimble, Mitchell, Ferreira, Waterhouse.
