Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses to a fatal hit-and-run accident on the A34.
Twenty-four-year-old Richard Preston, from Blaby in Leicestershire, died in the John Radcliffe Hospital on Friday, August 17, after he was hit by a vehicle on the southbound carriageway south of Oxford just before midnight the previous day.
The driver of the vehicle has now come forward and is currently helping police with their inquiries.
However, officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or thinks they may have seen Mr Preston prior to the accident to contact them.
Sgt Andy Kings-Welton said: "We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who gave the man a lift to the Oxford area from the Leicester or Coventry areas, possibly using the M69, M1 and M40."
Mr Preston was wearing a light top and dark tracksuit trousers and was carrying a large black Nike holdall. Anybody with information should call 01235 776000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
