A woman serving behind the counter of a shop with her two children was threatened by a robber wielding an 8in kitchen knife.
The robber, who concealed his identity with a scarf, made off with a small amount of cash from Littlemore Minimarket, Cowley Road, Littlemore.
The shop owner, Abdul Ghaffar, 35, said his wife, their eight-year-old daughter and three-year-old son were behind the counter when the robber threatened Mrs Ghaffar.
He said: "He asked for the money and passed a bag to her. She put the money in the bag, I don't know how much was in the till."
Police are looking for a heavily-built white man, 5ft 7in to 5ft 9in, in his mid to late teens. Anyone with information can call the police on 01865 266333, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
