Abingdon Amblers had a tremendous turnout for the Lamborn Carnival five-mile fun run.
On a wet, then hot day, and on an undulating testing course of road, footpath and bridleway, Ann Marrison received the prize for the third lady finisher overall.

*Noel Blatchford from Abingdon Amblers represented Oxfordshire at the Southern Counties meeting at Walthamstow in the 3km walk.
He came home in fifth place in a time of 18mins 54secs, earning Oxfordshire a valuable 12 points. This was the first time she has represented the county.
*Daphne Samworths (Abingdon) ran the famous man versus train 15-mile race in Wales. Over a very hilly and trying course she finished in 2hrs 19mins 34secs.
