Junk music was performed by young people to promote recycling. Youngsters in Bicester and Banbury took part in junk percussion workshops, organised by Cherwell District Council, to show how scrap metal and other materials could be used to make music.
District councillor David Markham, chairman of Cherwell's environmental committee, said: "It was an enjoyable way to make people more aware of the issues of waste management and recycling."

The workshops were part of Cherwell's promotional activities to publicise a paper recycling collection scheme, scheduled to start in late September.
All households have already been sent details of the scheme, and collection boxes will be delivered in the next few weeks to those households that have agreed to take part.
Households in the second phase of the scheme will receive leaflets in mid-October. Their collection boxes will be distributed in early November, with the newspaper and magazine collection service scheduled to begin before Christmas.
More information on the scheme is available on 01295 221637.
