Former world freestyle karate kick-boxing champion Mohammed Jamal-Thomas returned to competitive action after a four-year absence to snatch the British Open heavyweight black belt title in Cheltenham.
And Mark Currie made it a double celebration for the Greater Leys-based Oxford Warriors club with a tremendous display to capture the light-middleweight black belt title.
Mohammed, 37, a black belt third dan, from Oxford, retired from the sport after lifting the world crown in 1997.
But he has returned to help promote his style of martial arts to up-and-coming youngsters.
"I will do as much as I can to help promote freestyle karate," he said.
"It's great to help get the young kids involved. It keeps them off the streets and gives them something constructive to do with their lives."
The duo are coached by Dave Brown, a black belt second dan.
