Abingdon Town maintained their unbeaten start in Ryman League Division 3 with a goalless draw at Culham Road last night.
Leighton made the brighter start and man of the match Mickey Torres came to Abingdon's rescue with two excellent saves.
New signing Ian Concannon then missed a sitter for Abingdon, knocking the ball over the Leighton crossbar from six yards.
Jon Gardner was the next to squander two gilt-edged chances, failing to hit the target on both occasions.
The game became more physical in the second half, and Abingon were indebted to Jon Muttock's aerial ability on more than one occasion.
And it was Leighton who almost snatched a late winner following a goalmouth scramble before Torres gratefully grasped the ball.
