Husband and wife Wally and Rosie Ward retired on the same day from a Witney optician where they have both worked for more than seven years.
The couple, who live in North Leigh, worked for Specsavers in the Woolgate Centre. They retired on Friday, Mr Ward's 65th birthday.
Mrs Ward, 60, was assistant manager while Mr Ward was a technician. Originally Mr Ward was a foreman at Unipart while Mrs Ward was a general receptionist and administrator. They both changed to working in optics 20 years ago.
"We are looking forward to doing things without watching the clock. We like gardening, walking and cycling and hope to go to India next year," said Mr Ward.
Staff celebrated their retirement at a barbecue held at the home of Specsavers director Mrs Cathy Mullen.
Mrs Mullen said: "We will miss them greatly and would like to thank them for their support."
Mr Ward said: "There are an awful lot of people in Witney wearing glasses that I have made and Rosie has dispensed."
