Banbury Borough have made history becoming the first team in the county to win the National Double Fours championships.
And they did it in style beating Marlow in a thrilling final at Worthing on Saturday.
Having seen off Isle of Wight side Cowes Medina in a tense match 42-36, favourites Borough went into an early nine-shot lead at five ends.
However, with 17 ends completed by Greg Moon's rink (13-13), and Alan Prew's rink two ends behind at 17-10, Marlow battled back to lead the contest by seven shots.
All looked lost until captain Moon took the initiative and the team responded superbly, scoring 23 shots without reply.
Moon's rink of Keith Holloway, Mick Redman and Gary Lucas put the match beyond doubt by completing their 21 ends to win by 26-13.
Prew's rink of Richard Redford, Darren Sharpe and Calvin Carpenter played out the remaining ends, scoring ten shots in four consecutive ends. The Marlow club sportingly conceded on Prew's 19 completed ends.
Moon paid tribute to the team and the supporters who travelled to watch them in York for the regional finals and to the final in Worthing.
