Cash was stolen in an armed raid on a shop in Bicester today (Thursday).
Two men went into McCoull's store on the corner of Villiers Road and Leach Road, on the King's End estate, just before 7am.
They produced a gun and demanded cash before making off.
Clive Edwards, whose wife Jill was one of the shop assistants, said: "Jill phoned me to say she was all right. I do not know if she was the only person in the store at the time. That is all I know now."
Police Inspector Joe Tripkovic said: "I am still waiting for fuller details from the CID. It is believed the two men produced what looked like a hand- gun.
"We do not know yet how much cash was stolen. No-one in the shop was hurt."
