Oxford pupil James Baker, 16, is celebrating a set of GCSE results that are likely to be one of best in the country.
He gained 12A*s at GCSE as well as two As at AS level, despite sitting these exams a year early.
James, a pupil at Magdalen College School, Oxford, said: "I am really taken aback and am obviously extremely pleased and surprised because I was not expecting to get such good marks."
James, of Chalfont Road, Oxford, plans to stay at the school to study A -levels and hopes to go university.
