Wallingford's Castle Meadows have been opened to the public for the first time.
People can now wander across the 42-acre site. Free entry is through two gates on the Thames Path, or via Cemetery Lane.
The land, once occupied by the town's Norman castle, belongs to South Oxfordshire District Council and is being managed for bio-diversity by local wildlife group, the Northmoor Trust.
A bridge is planned next year to link Castle Meadows with the town-council-owned Castle Gardens. An official opening ceremony for the meadows is to be held on October 11.
