The life of a popular Oxford barman has been remembered with a party at the pub where he used to work.
Bryn Watts was a celebrated figure at the Bullingdon Arms, Cowley Road, Oxford, and last Sunday friends gathered at the pub to pay tribute to him.
Landlord Mr Mike Laudat said: "Bryn was a well-respected character in Oxford. There was a great turnout for him and everybody had a great time. He will be missed."
Musicians gathered together to play Mr Watts' favourite tunes.
Mr Laudat said: "Bryn was a great blues rock fan, he loved Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd. The people of Wallingford know him well from when he once got half the town to go down to Wembley with him for a Pink Floyd concert."
Mr Watts is also well remembered for his skill as a barman. Mr Peter Galpin, a friend and one of the musicians who played on Sunday, said: "He was a professional who knew the special art of 'working a room': a barman who shows there is actually a great deal to doing such a job well and going the extra mile."
Last year Mr Watts travelled to South America but only made it as far as New Orleans before turning back because of ill health. He went to Brighton and was forced to see a doctor who referred him to hospital. There he was diagnosed with cancer and died in hospital six weeks later. He died on July 30. He was 47.
