Thame Utd 2, Northwood 1
Thame got off the mark with their first Ryman Division 1 victory of the season after a solid performance at Windmill Stadium.
The home side started well with Rob Smith opening the scoring on 17 minutes. Justin Lee headed on James Saulsbury's throw-in and Smith volleyed home from eight yards.
Mark Simms should have increased the lead seven minutes later when clean through, and the miss almost proved costly as Gavin Hart blazed over for Northwood.
The home side bombarded the visitors' goal just before the break with no luck, but after the livewire Simms had struck the bar, he got the goal he deserved in the second half.
Mark Jones's through ball put Simms clear of the Northwood defence and he coolly slotted home.
Northwood reduced the deficit on 74 minutes when substitute Andy Cook headed home.
