Whyteleafe 2, Thame Utd 2
Thame picked up their first Ryman Division 1 point of the season at the third attempt in a game played in oppressive heat at Whyteleafe.
The match was turned on its head in the 68th minute by a double substitution by Thame boss Andy Sinnott when his side were 2-0 down.
The introduction of Chris Potter and Micky Swaysland gave the visitors a boost and within a minute, they were back in the game.
A superb cross from Justin Merritt was met by the head of Wayne Cort and he glanced his header past the stranded keeper Danny Rose.
And Thame got their point in the 84th minute when Cort used his strength to meet a Rob Smith pass and loop the ball over the advancing keeper Rose.
Earlier, the home side had looked odds-on winners as they took a comfortable two-goal lead through Gary Elliot in the tenth minute and Daniel Nwanze who poked the ball home on 41 minutes. Thame looked a different outfit in the second half and took a grip immediately, Justin Merritt seeing a goalbound effort charged down in the 52nd minute.
Keeper Alan Foster watched as a Leon Dillon header rebounded to safety off a post and then produced a flying save from a Matt Kember free kick.
But Sinnott's substituions made difference, and Swaysland nearly stole all three points in the 87th minute when his effort curled wide of the far post.
Thame: Foster, Saulsbury, Avery, Brown, Williams, Merritt, Jones (Potter 68), West, Cort, Smith, Simms (Swaysland 68). Sub: Lee (not used).
