Oxfordshire's library service managers have announced emergency arrangements for the public while the central library is closed for vital work.
The library will be closed until Saturday, November 17, to allow rewiring to be done and the ventilation system to be overhauled.
Abingdon Library, on 01235 537469, will be the best place to research business information, while more complex inquiries should be directed to Banbury Library on 01295 264967.
The Oxfordshire Record Office in St Luke's Church, Cowley, can help people researching their family or local history, from Tuesday, September 11.
The usual range of periodicals and newspapers in the central library will be in the large Reading Room at Cowley Library from Monday, September 3.
