White Horse Harrier Pete Wilson sealed the county championship at the Babyrunner.com Headington 5-mile road race.

He was first local man home, finishing fourth overall in a time of 26.13, nearly a minute ahead of his nearest rival, Oxford City's Steve Kimber.

Kimber's second place was a remarkable achievement.

The Oxford athlete has fought back from a broken leg, sustained two years ago after being knocked down by a car.

Plymouth's John Porter took first place overall.

Headington's Iona Robertson won the women's crown, as she comfortably beat the challenge of Witney Roadrunners' Natasha Rhymes.

In the county senior men's section, Witney's Tony Lock took bronze, while John McCormack grabbed silver in the Vet male 50 category.

Liz Leigh and Judith LeGood who both struck gold for Witney in the Vet 35 and Vet 45 categories respectively. TOP 50 FINISHERS
