A man has been charged with the murder of contract worker Peter Bennett, a 36-year-old from Didcot.
Gavin Philip Hodgkinson, 24, of Glebe Road, Didcot, was due to appear before Oxford Magistrates' Court this morning.
Police launched a murder investigation after a Bank Holiday fight outside a Didcot pub.
Mr Bennett was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with head injuries following the incident outside the Wheatsheaf pub, Wantage Road, shortly before midnight on Monday.
Despite a nine-hour battle to save his life, he died shortly before 10am yesterday, police said.
Police said the incident happened near the footpath outside the pub.
