The best location for a new cycle and pedestrian subway to serve Didcot's Ladygrove estate is to be discussed further by county council officers.
The council has been considering the right location for a new subway under the London to Bristol railway line in Didcot to replace the existing one in Cow Lane.
County councillors heard last week that the further eastward the new subway moves, the less use the route would be to the station and local schools.
The facilities are being reviewed because the Cow Lane subway is not big enough for cyclists and pedestrians to get through at the same time.
A new subway east of Cow Lane could cost more than £1m, and officers will continue their research.
