Pensioner Irene Woolford would like to thank a Good Samaritan who came to the aid of her neighbour Alfred Webb when he collapsed in his garden.
Mrs Woolford, 86, of Sutton Green, near Eynsham, was working in her back garden on Tuesday when her pet cockatiel started making a lot of noise.
She went to the front of her house where she found Mr Webb, 98, had fallen over and was calling for help.
Mrs Woolford said: "I flagged down a car driven by a woman with three children.
"She helped Mr Webb get into the house while I called an ambulance and doctor. One of the children told me they lived in Burford Road, Witney."
