The 200th anniversary of the birth of a rebel vicar who built an Anglican church is to be celebrated with a flower festival between September 7-9.
The late Cardinal John Henry Newman built both the Church of St Mary the Virgin and St Nicholas, in Littlemore, and the parish's first school.
On September 8, the Oxford Girl's Choir will hold a concert at 7.30pm and the following day, the choir of St Mary Magdalen, Oxford, will give a choral evensong at 6pm.
