Bicester and North Oxford need five points from their final game next week to be absolutely sure of avoiding the drop from the Home Counties Premier League Division 1, following their hefty 83-run defeat at the hands of High Wycombe on Saturday.
The result means that Bicester are third from bottom, still 21 points clear of the next club Radlett.
Even if they did finish second from bottom, it is unlikely that Bicester would be be relegated as it seems the Division 2 West winners from Hertfordshire won't want to come up.
A tidy spell from Paul Jeacock, who took 5-76 in 21 overs, did his best to contain the Wycombe batsmen.
But they still reached 209-8, with opener Jason Harrison carying his bat for 84. Bicester were never in the hunt and subsided to 126 all out in the 60th over.
Their top scorer was the promising James France, who was run out for 35, while the last three wickets fell at the same score.
