Two people were airlifted to hospital following a traffic accident today on the A34 between Bletchingdon and Weston-on-the-Green.
A milk tanker and a BMW car collided as they travelled northwards shortly before 8am.
The car hit the central reservation before coming to a halt, forcing police to close one lane in each direction.
Oxfordshire Fire Service was called to the accident. They used cutting equipment to release the woman driver and her male passenger from the BMW.
Both were airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with minor injuries.
One appliance from Kidlington Fire Station, one from Rewley Road, in Oxford, and another from Bicester attended, along with a rescue tender unit also from Kidlington.
The accident caused long tailbacks in both directions until the police reopened all the lanes at 9.45am.
