Oxford United boss Mark Wright called for football to introduce "a third umpire" after seeing his side benefit from a debatable refereeing decision as they chalked up their first win at The Kassam Stadium.
The U's 3-2 victory over Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday only came about after Rushden had defender Jim Rodwell controversially sent off for a professional foul on Phil Gray at the start of the second half.
Afterwards, Wright said he had great sympathy with Football League newcomers Rushden.
"It was a dubious sending-off. In my opinion it again didn't warrant a sending-off.
"Somebody said that when he was running, he punched Phil but it didn't look like that to me. I'm looking at it, and I'll always be very honest with what I see."
