FA Cup: Thame Utd 3, Worthing 2
A thrilling preliminary round encounter boiled over in the 90th minute when a mass brawl resulted in the dismissal of Worthing's Marc Rice and Thame's Neil Greig after Rob Smith had been punched in the face.
Thame took an early lead when a searching cross from Justin Lee found Wayne Cort who flicked his header into the far corner of the net.
Thame went further ahead on 19 minutes when Mark West reacted first to another Lee cross and neatly lobbed the stranded keeper.
On the stroke of half time, Stuart Tuck's free kick was deflected past keeper Alan Foster to make it 2-1
Thame struck early in the second half, Lee again setting up Cort.
Damien Webber pulled a goal back in the 56th minute, but Thame's defence stayed composed which caused Rice to lose his cool and spark off the last-inute brawl.
Thame now travel to Horsham YMCA in the next round.
**Thame: Foster, West (Greig 86), Avery, Brown, Williams, Merritt, Jones (Curran 65), Lee, Cort, Smith. Simms (Stewart 45). Subs not used: Swaysland, Boult.
