The Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire will be taking to the streets to support an Oxford-based charity's campaign.
Hugo Brunner will be helping Opportunity International UK delivering letters asking people who they would give credit to if they were a bank manager in the developing world. The campaign is aimed at promoting its message that it is "giving people credit, not charity".
Mr Brunner, an associate of the charity, said: "Recent media coverage has highlighted the demand for credit here in the UK, but it is a vitally important issue overseas too.
"Giving small loans to individuals is increasingly recognised as a powerful means of tackling poverty and Opportunity International is among the leaders in this field."
The charity gives small amounts of credit to self-employed people in enterprises such as street stalls.
