A group of Witney residents staged a peaceful protest demonstration at plans to build new homes off New Yatt Road.
Two years ago, West Oxfordshire planners rejected a scheme to demolish an existing property and replace it with five new houses. A new application has now been submitted to demolish the property and build four homes.
About 20 people carrying with placards staged a two hour demonstration in New Yatt Road last Thursday.
Candy Kerpache, one of the objectors, said: "There are 900 houses being built in Witney at the moment. There is no way we need more squashed in the New Yatt Road."
traffic calming measures were recently installed in the road, which is a popular short cut.
Mrs Kerpache said: "It's already a rat run and does not need any more traffic. At present we have a lot of wildlife in the area including woodpeckers and squirrels and they will be disturbed with the loss of habitat.
"The new properties will also overlook existing ones in Vanner Close and Tarrant Avenue. It is an over-intensive development of the site."
