Flowers, cards, and a telegram from the Queen decorated the nursing home room of Frances Money, as she celebrated her 100th birthday on Monday at Newland House, Witney.
Frances MoneyMrs Money was born in Banbury, the youngest of four children. She still enjoys good health and said: "I used to do a lot cycling when I was young and I loved walking. It is nice if you get to an old age and keep pretty well.
"I feel fine, though it does feel a long time ago that I was born," she added.
Her late husband Percy, a cobbler, also came from Banbury and the couple settled in Bampton in 1930.
Mrs Money has a son and daughter, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was well-known as a dressmaker and the clothes she was wearing for her special day were all handmade.
