Thame battled back from a goal down to win 3-1 at Uxbridge in Ryman League Division 1 last night.
The game started badly for the visitors as they conceded an 18th-minute goal scored by Lee Tunnel.
But Thame didn't get downhearted with Justin Merritt and Rob Smith taking control in midfield.
It was Smith who brought United level in the 24th minute with a 30-yard piledriver which flew past stranded home keeper Tony Wells.
Mark Simms had a great chance to put Thame ahead on 50 minutes but he delayed his shot, allowing Mark Weedon to clear off the line.
But six minutes later good work from Simms and Wayne Cort saw Mark West put Thame ahead after a goalmouth scramble.
The home side were becoming frustrated and Tunnel was booked in the 59th minute for a late challenge on the excellent Mark Avery.
Uxbridge would have got back in the game but for a last-ditch tackle from Thame captain Martin Brown, which denied them an 84th minute equaliser.
Thame sealed their win on 88 minutes when Cort's shot was deflected over Uxbridge keeper Wells into the back of the net.
**Thame: Foster, Saulsbury, Avery, Brown, Williams, Merritt, Lee, Cort, West (Swaysland 85), Smith, Simms. Subs: Curran, Bradley (not used).
