Derby-winning trainer Charlie Lister delivered the big prize once again as ante-post favourite El Ronan landed the £3,500 William Hill Gold Cup in thrilling style at Oxford Stadium last night.
Ronan, sent off the 4-6 favourite, joined forces with big rival Kingsbrook Lea to go clear out of the second turn.

But Kingsbrook Lea fought back gamely, and at the line Ronan had half a length to spare with El Zita in third. The time was a slowish 27.10.
The result made it a double for owner Mario Lanfranchi, who won the race last year with El Boss.
Lanfranchi also had a double on the night courtesy of the Angie Kibble-trained El Tara.
**SPORTSMAIL tipped the first three home in the Gold Cup in the correct order.
