Abingdon started their season in style with a 32-3 victory at home to Gosford All Blacks in the preliminary round of the David Charles Oxfordshire Cup on Sunday.
The hosts led 10-3 at the break thanks to a try from flanker Mark Harvey and a penalty and conversion from Xavier Lecocq.
In the second half debutant scrum-half Andy McIntyre, prop Ben Caudle, winger Nick Wilson and Harvey scored tries, while fly-half Paul Lemon kicked a conversion.
The gloss was taken off the win by the dismissals of centre Lecocq and Gosford's Al Croft for an off the ball incident.
Didcot are also through after a 24-15 victory over Harwell.
The draw for the second preliminary round will be made live on Radio Oxford this Saturday at 5.30pm.
