Autotype UTV League round-up

Wantage side Blue Boar came from behind to beat Sandman 4-3 in their opening Division 1 game of the season on Sunday.

Blue Boar, formerly King Alfred's Head, got off to a bright start with a Wayne Hogan strike after ten minutes on their debut in the top flight.

But last season's runners-up Sandman had other ideas and a superb double from Paul Tassell gave them a 2-1 interval lead.

Shortly after the break, substitute Warrick Baldwin increased their lead to 3-1.

With 20 minutes left, Sean Cantwell reduced the difference with a free-kick, before Chris Roche levelled.

Alan Haines then grabbed all three points with a well-taken header just before full-time.

East Hendred, down to nine men after injuries to Alan Bodin and keeper Robbie Barron, lost 4-2 at Burford United.

Both of Hendred's goals came from Neil Thimbleby, with United scoring through Mike Haynes, Jamie Butt, Darren Lewis and Simon Gibbs.

Ex-Milton man Matty Shelton scored twice for his new club, Saxton Rovers, to earn them a 2-2 draw at home to a very lively Athletico Indaline. Andy Martin and James Stockford were on the scoresheet for the visitors.

A new look Brewery Tap side got off to a good start with a 4-1 win against newcomers Long Wittenham.

Lee Jones (2), Kevin Secker and Stuart Tofte were the Tap marksmen, with George Burgess netting for the visitors.

In Division 2, Forest Hill made a good start at the higher level with a 6-2 win against AFC Crowmarsh.

David Riseley, who moved from AFC Kidlington during the close season, grabbed a fine hat-trick. Andy Trevelyan (2) and Richard Irving got the other three.

Mark Hannigan and Charlie Lecroix (og) replied for Crowmarsh.

The best performance in Division 3A came from Wheatley Park's James Parker who scored all five goals as they won 5-3 at Abingdon side The Stocks.

Stuart Baker, Neil Crews and Paul Ackroyd replied for The Stocks.

Medisense hammered six past new boys Fitzharris Arms Abingdon without reply.

Their marksmen were Ben Parry (2), John Mills (2), Gareth Hughes and an own goal.

In Division 3B, Wallingford Exiles grabbed a late goal to deny visitors Chilton Casuals all three points.

Their strikes came from Mark Littleford, Stefan Karnicnik and Gavin Ward. Simon Alder (2) and Rob Taylor replied for Chilton.
