Tourists and Oxford residents will be given an opportunity to look around the city's historic prison site before it is closed to the public and converted into a hotel.
In July, Oxford City Council approved an £18m scheme by the Osborne Group to convert the site in New Road into a luxury hotel.
The development will comprise of a 72-bed hotel catering for tourists and business people, a roof garden, a 100-seat restaurant, shops, a leisure centre, a museum and an open public space.
Many prison features, including windows, doors, corridors and staircases, will be retained but critics fear the development will block the view of the Castle Mound, which dates back to 1071.
The prison and castle site will be open free on Sunday, September 9, between noon and 4pm.
